We are two founders, Paul and Jan, building Soq from Amsterdam, in DLAB at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. For our next prototype, we are looking for five interns who want to see their work end up in a real product.
Software Developer / Data & Signal Processing Intern The app
Want to see your code in a real product? Help us build the app for Soq.
What you will do
- Work on our iPhone & Android app, backend and possibly our website
- Connect the app to our hardware prototype over Bluetooth
- Turn raw sensor data into reliable readings
Who you are
- Computer Science, AI, Data Science or Business Analytics student (but also other applicants welcome)
- Python, TypeScript (React Native) or C/C++

Embedded Electronics / Case Design & 3D Printing Intern The sensor pod
Love building things with your hands? Help us condense the sensors of our prototype so they fit into one small pod on a baby's foot.
What you will do
- Combine our sensors into one compact circuit
- Program our microcontrollers
- Design the case in CAD and 3D print it
Who you are
- Physics, Computer Science or electrical engineering student (but also other applicants welcome)
- Soldering, microcontrollers and CAD

Textile & Garment Design Intern The strap
Help us tailor the strap of our Soq. You will shape our next prototype with your designs.
What you will do
- Make patterns, design the Soq and sew prototypes
- Choose the right fabrics
- Keep our sensors firmly in place
Who you are
- Fashion, textile or product design student from any school (but also other applicants welcome)
- Knitwear or fabric design experience is a plus

Industrial Design Intern The whole product
Help shape Soq as one product. A rare chance to design a real product end to end.
What you will do
- Rethink our design from the ground up
- Check every aspect for regulatory and safety concerns
- Find the best form, materials and fit for the strap and the sensor pod
Who you are
- Industrial or product design student, from any school (but also other applicants welcome)
- Strong in sketching, CAD and prototyping
- An eye for detail and a portfolio you are proud of

Marketing & Community Intern (Dutch-speaking) The brand
Help us build a brand Dutch parents love before our launch.
What you will do
- Create content for Instagram and LinkedIn
- Build our community of parents
- Talk with parents, daycares and doctors about what they need
- Support our website and campaigns
Who you are
- Ideally Communication, Marketing, Business or Business & Innovation student (but also other applicants welcome)
- Fluent in Dutch
